Question
1. Are exterior walls of an Elevator Machine Room required to be rated? We believe that like the hoist-way, exterior walls are not required to be rated; thereby relieving the door from its rating requirement. 2. Is an exterior door from an Elevator Machine Room required to be rated? 3. Is the roof/ceiling of an Elevator Machine Room required to be rated, as long as, any rated walls extend to deck?
