Question
Is it the intent of the FBC section 715.4.7.4 to allow a fusible link fire shutter to provide a fire rating for an egress door that lacks a fire rating in an open stair of a 3-story structure of type 1B construction?

Commentary
If the door to be protected is an egress door, a fusible link
shutter is not permitted for protection. While 715.4.7.4
addresses doors in pedestrian ways, Egress Doors are
specifically governed by Section 1008.
