Question
Is it the intent of Section 1006.3.1 of the 2004 Florida Building Code to require all exits from an assembly space to be marked by an approved exit sign; or does the cited section permit only the minimum required number and capacity of exits to be marked?

The answer to the question is "YES." If it meets the
requirements of an exit and could be used as a portion of a
code compliant means of egress, it requires signage.

Commentary
1025.2 which is specific to assembly occupancies states that
the main exit shall be designed to accommodate 50% of the
occupant load. The exception states "where there is no
well-defined entrance/exit, exits may be distributed around
the perimeter of the building," This scenario would require
all those exits to have exit signs.
