Original Request

  • Requested By: Brett Carlton
  • Requester E-Mail: bcarlton@pbcgov.org
  • Code Version: 2021
  • Code: BUILDING
  • Code Description:
  • Chapter:
  • Section: 102.6.1
  • Topic: Building not previously occupied

  • Question: Is it the intent of 102.6.1 to require a townhouse building that was completed through rough inspections and issued a Certificate of completion under the 6th edition, to comply with the current code, 7th edition, when a new permit, application date January 2021, for interior improvement is applied for and resulting in a Certificate of Occupancy?

Answer:

No, however, if completing the requirements of the buildout requires modifications to the existing shell, those modifications would need to meet the new code.

Commentary:

None.
