Question:
Is it the intent of 1027.6 exception 3 to omit the separation requirement between the exterior exit stairs and the open ended corridor only and leave in place the requirement for separation between the interior of the building and the exterior stairs?

Input Received:
No. Exception 3 deletes the requirement for a separation (both rated wall and opening protective) between the open-ended corridor (aka breezeway) and the exterior exit stairway where the two elements meet. In other words, a door is not required between the open exterior stairway and the open corridor (breezeway). If Table 1020.1 (per Item 3.2) requires a rated corridor (occupant load served by the corridor >10), the separation from the interior is required
By the way, the code version is 2020, not 2021.
answer should start with a "yes"

I don't think I agree. I believe the answer should start off with "Yes" the rest of the answer seems fine as it does delete the requirement for separation between the open ended corridor and the exterior exit stairway but leaves in place the requirement for separation of the interior as per Section 1027.6 Exception 3 item 3.4 requires the exterior walls and openings adjacent to the exterior exit stairway comply with section 1027
