  • Question: Is the intent of 3007.4.4 to provide a clear 8 feet dimension for the entire length of the elevator lobby or are minor column encroachments into the 8 feet allowed provided 150 square feet is provided?
  • Comment: Example: A lobby with dimensions of 8 foot by 20 feet with an encroachment of 4 square foot allowing 156 square feet remaining. The encroachment would be approx.. 2 feet by 3.7 feet. The encroachment occurs approx. half way along the 20 foot long lobby wall an will maintain 4.3 feet clear along the path.
